If you are looking for some New Year’s Eve fun in Seattle, this blog offers some activities you might enjoy.
What to do for New Year’s Eve in Seattle
This blog is divided into two sections. The first part is for couples who want to party the night away. The second part is for family with children who want to spend New Year’s Eve as a family.
Fun activities for couples
If you want to party the night away, there are 2 big parties at Seattle Center. At the Armory Stage, SWAY will be playing from 8 pm to midnight. At the International Fountain, you can dance to live electronic music starting at 10 pm, along with a video projection show of Fountain of Lights.
Both parties have an admission fee. And remember how crowded it would be, so plan ahead for transportation. And dress to stay warm. Here is a link to those parties.
If you prefer to enjoy a ritzier event, consider the Chihuly Gardens and Glass (also in Seattle Center.) Savor delicious appetizers and desserts to live music by the Michael Benson Band. This will be a very good place to watch the fireworks.
Fun activities for families with children
If your family would like to watch the fireworks at night, Gas Work Park will be very crowded, but festive. If you prefer to be away from the crowd, Kerry Park may be less crowded, but still, it’s no longer a kept secret. I’ve seen tour bus stopping there throughout the year because of the magnificent view it offers of downtown Seattle. Here is a link to a few more lesser known places to watch the fireworks.
For the children, there are a couple of children’s museums that have live entertainment for the family. In fact, at Imagine Children’s Museum, you are encouraged to attend in your pajamas. Here is a link to more details about these New Year’s Eve children’s events.
I hope you find one or two ideas from this blog that will help you enjoy New Year’s Eve away from home. Here is a link to the entire article of Things to do for New Year’s Eve in Seattle.
If you find this blog helpful, here is another one entitled Fun Things To Do For Christmas. Although it’s written for Christmas, there are activities in the blog that offers ideas for fun activities throughout the year.
